Buttons disappearing when entering Simplified Chinese characters in an entry

Description

Running WordPress? for iPhone v1.2 on iPhone 3G, firmware 2.2.1, jailbroken.

Some buttons in the UI disappeared when I created a draft containing Simplified Chinese characters. The steps taken were:

  1. Began a new draft.
  1. Typed a title that contained both English and Simplified Chinese characters.
  1. Typed some tags in English.
  1. Tapped on Categories. When in the Categories listing page, the 'Write' button that should be on the left of the top toolbar disappeared (See screenshot #1).
  1. No way to return to the Write Post page. Pressing on the Home button brought up the Action dialog. Had to tap 'Discard'.
  1. After tapping on the listing of this post in the Posts listing page, and then on the body text to invoke editing mode, the 'Save' button was missing. Had to tap the 'Cancel' button to get anywhere else (See screenshots #2 & #3).

Issue is not reproducible with latest version of the application.

@raanan : Can you please confirm the same ?

are you running the simulator in Chinese language somehow to test this in trunk ?

I got this bug again even without Chinese characters in the draft. The procedure was slightly different this time:

  1. Created a new post.
  2. Left 'Title', 'Tags', 'Categories' and 'Status' untouched, and tapped straight into edit mode. The 'Save' button appeared in the top-right of the title bar as it should.
  3. Wrote a couple of paras.
  4. Got an incoming call. After the call was done, I was brought back into the WordPress? app. Tapping to editing the post this time didn't bring up the 'Save' button. The only way to navigate out of the draft is to discard changes.

I have a screengrab. Shall I open another ticket?

BTW, I tried exactly the above but wasn't able to reproduce. I wonder if it's b/c your phone is jailbroken perhaps ?
