Users who have the Twitter Tools WP plugin installed are posting empty tweets from using the app. Check out this search, seeing lots of tweets about a new post called !?title?!: ​http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%22%21%24title%24%21%22.

It's also impacting RSS feeds.

Would publishing the post as "private" prevent it from going to twitter?

Yes, it should - I thought that's how it was setup. Is it currently publishing a live post and then removing it ? If so, that would explain the bug.
